How Greystone Recruitment collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated 18 August 2026.

Who we are

Greystone Recruitment is a specialist private staffing firm placing household and performance staff with private clients in the United Kingdom and internationally. For the purposes of UK data protection law we act as a data controller in respect of the personal information described below.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to conduct a search properly:

  • Contact details submitted through our enquiry and registration forms.
  • Candidate information including employment history, qualifications, right-to-work status, references and any curriculum vitae you provide.
  • Client information relating to the role, household requirements and engagement terms.
  • Correspondence between you and our consultants.

How we use it

Candidate information is used to assess suitability for specific roles and, with your explicit agreement on each occasion, to introduce you to a client. We do not circulate candidate details speculatively and we do not add anyone to a marketing list without consent.

Client information is used solely to conduct the search you have instructed and to fulfil our contractual obligations to you.

Lawful basis

We rely on legitimate interests in operating a recruitment business, on the performance of a contract where one is in place, on consent where you have given it, and on legal obligation where verification or record-keeping is required.

Sharing

We share candidate information with a client only where the candidate has agreed to that specific introduction. We may share information with reference providers you have nominated, with vetting and background-check providers, and with professional advisers or regulators where we are required to do so.

We do not sell personal information under any circumstances.

Retention

Candidate records are retained for two years from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted unless you ask us to keep them on file. Client records are retained for six years from the conclusion of an engagement to meet contractual and tax obligations.

Your rights

You may request access to the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to or restrict its processing, withdraw consent, or request portability. We respond to all such requests within one month.

Security

Information is held on access-controlled systems, encrypted in transit and at rest, and visible only to the consultants working on the relevant search.
