About
A Small Firm, Deliberately.
Greystone represents a limited number of clients and a limited number of candidates. Everything about how we work follows from that decision.
Who we are
Built out of private kitchens and private houses.
Greystone was founded by people who worked inside these households before they recruited for them. That background is the reason we ask different questions — about the schedule, the guests, the previous appointment that ended badly — and the reason candidates take our calls.
We do not publish placement numbers or client names. The work is private, and the clients who suit us are the ones who expect it to stay that way.
What we hold to
Four things, applied without exception.
Discretion
Names are not used in briefs. Roles are not advertised with identifying detail. Candidates are told who the client is only once a meeting is agreed. We assume every conversation is confidential and we have never needed a reminder to treat it that way.
Quality
We would rather send three candidates than thirty. Each has been met in person, verified, and referenced by us directly. Where we have reservations about someone on the shortlist, we say so in writing before you meet them.
Understanding
A household is a set of unwritten standards. We spend the time to learn them — how the day runs, who is difficult and why, what the last person got wrong — because that is what a shortlist is actually built from.
Relationships
Most of our work comes from people we placed years ago, or from the agents and family offices who introduced them. We stay in contact through the first year of every appointment, and we would rather lose a fee than force a fit.
“We are not trying to be the largest agency in this market. We are trying to be the one you call first.”
